AGEC’s client on the Utah Point Stockyard 2 project was Ertech Geomarine Pty Ltd.
The project consisted of the construction of a new iron ore stockyard adjacent to an existing stockyard, with the intention of expanding the output capacity of the stockyards. The stockyard consists of stockpiles of iron ore up to 17m in height and associated stackers, reclaimer and conveyors required to stockpile the iron ore and transfer it onto ships for export.
AGEC’s role was to provide a value engineered geotechnical design for earthworks and foundations for structures. Ground conditions on the site required the design of ground improvement measures to ensure the long term stability of the stockpiles and associated infrastructure. AGEC also provided geotechnical design site representatives during the construction works.
