The M4/M6 Kinnegad to Kilcock motorway was the first Public Private Partnership road contract signed by the NRA and consists of 39km of dual lane motorway with more than 30 structures forming a strategic route from Dublin to the west of Ireland and its value was in the region of €188 million. It ties in at the Existing M4 motorway at Kilcock and would connect with the N4 and N6 west of Kinnegad. The scheme details included:
- Design and construction of 36km of motorway, 3km of dual carriageway and associated side roads.
- Design and construction of 18 overbridges, 2 underbridges and grade separated junctions at Kilcock, Enfield and Kinnegad.
AGEC’s client on the motorway scheme was SIAC Ferrovial Agroman (JV).
AGEC’s role was to provide a value engineered geotechnical design for earthworks and foundations for structures. We provided geotechnical design site representatives for the duration of the construction works and we were responsible for the provision for construction completion certificates to the JV.
