AGEC has been involved with the Geotechnical Design and construction of the onshore section of the Corrib Gas Field project since 2002. The Corrib Gas field is located in the Atlantic Ocean situated approximately 50 miles off the northwest coast of Ireland. Gas is proposed to be brought onshore through a sub-sea pipeline which then passes into an onshore pipeline to a gas processing terminal.
AGEC’s client for this project throughout has been Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL) which is part of Shell’s E&P European organisation with extensive experience in operating subsea developments and has safely operated major onshore and offshore gas fields in Europe since the 1960’s.
AGEC worked on the design and supervision of ground Investigation for the gas terminal site and onshore pipeline section, and has provided geotechnical advice particularly with respect to geotechnical hazard identification and design along the working corridor. We have represented SEPIL at meetings with regulatory authorities including government departments.
Our role has included detailed designs, geotechnical risk assessments, construction supervision and compilation of environmental impact assessment documents.
