AGEC History

AGEC was established in 2001 by Turlough Johnston, Peter Rutty, Dr Paul Jennings and Marion English to provide specialist geotechnical and engineering geology advice to the civil engineering industry. Over the years, our service offering has expanded, and we have worked on major projects both nationally and internationally including the UK, Australia, Bahrain, Oman, Dubai, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Ghana.

AGEC has worked consistently in the UK since 2003 on infrastructure and energy projects and has established a UK office in The Custard Factory in Birmingham.

Community and industry involvement has always been a keen interest of ours. As such, the AGEC team has organised and chaired national seminars for the Engineers Ireland such as “Earthworks in Transportation” Seminar, Dublin, (December 2001) and IEI “Soft Ground Engineering” Conference, Portlaoise, Ireland (2007).

AGEC has also developed a relationship with academic and technical institutions such as our local Institute of Technology in Carlow and national universities such as UCD and Trinity College Dublin.
